Heart Silver Charms Illustrate Design Process

Here at Nina Designs, we design the way you do: with passion, creativity and attention to detail. Our ideas originate from a wide variety of sources: nature, fine art paintings, dreams, museum exhibits, customer requests, our favorite new scarf…the sources are endless. The inspiration is the seed from which the design process grows. Sketches with measurements and different viewpoints, references to techniques on existing styles and paragraphs of explanation go into the design process. Often the first sample will not quite capture the essence of the idea, so we will revise, and revise again if necessary. Sometimes we branch off into another direction that reveals itself as the item develops.

Everyone loves hearts, but not all hearts are lovable! Each of the three photos below show the first draft versions of heart silver charms on the left side of the photo, and the final charms on the right. You can see how with slight changes, the final heart silver charms are more balanced and pleasing. We’re committed to fully exploring all options in the design process so that our pieces are the best they can possibly be and inspire our customers to create beautiful jewelry.

First draft of hearts on left are too skinny and lose their "heart" shape.
