Customer Requests Inspire New Jewelry Findings

Filed under: New Products — Tags: leah @ 8:45 am

As many of you know, most of the jewelry findings in our catalog are designed by us! What you may not know is that quite a few of our designs were inspired by customer requests! Every week at our staff meeting, we compile a list of customer design requests, including those made at tradeshows.

When we sit down to work on new styles, the first thing we do is review this list of requests. If a requested item seems like a natural addition to our collection, with potentially wide appeal, we’ll sketch it and start it on the path to becoming a sample.  Due to the organic nature of the design process, sometimes the final version of the item ends up quite different than its first incarnation.  We work a potential new design until we believe it’s the best it can possibly be! For example, the evil eye charm at the bottom of this photo is the third attempt at this charm, which is based on a customer request from several years ago! The third time must be the charm because we think this evil eye charm is a winner.   So, if there’s anything you’d like to see us carry, please don’t hesitate to let us know – we value your input!

Customer requests inspired all of these designs.

  1. An Evil Eye charm! Thank you :) . It’s amazing to work with such a great team of folks who understand the challenges designers face in finding quality, unique jewelry findings.

  2. Yes, finally after 3 years we’ve got an evil eye charm – thanks for your patience :-) ! The first two were disasters, but this last version I think works really well. I can’t wait to see how you use it Peggy.

  3. Hi…

Right now I am looking for Tiny gold humming birds, I found a couple but next to my gold flower clasp, the birds look like buzzards, and I’m trying to design a humming bird going to a trumpet vine using small red onyx beads,a few green tourmalines, gold chain, and the flower hook and eye clasp, possably some of the brown deerhide lase…but the bird is to big and takes away from the flower, which is the focal piece..

    Thanks
