Spiral Earrings

Silver Pendants, silver clasps and earring findings arrive at our office weekly, perfectly polished and ready for action.  It is easy to forget that each one traveled a long road from raw silver pellet to finished product.  One of the things I like best about my trips to Asia is the opportunity to peak behind the scenes at this amazing process.  I am always newly dumbfounded by the skill and patience of our Balinese silversmiths who create everything by hand.  It is enlightening to see items I see mostly in their sleek, finished forms, all roughed up and crusty with only hints of the beauty waiting to be unleashed at the polishing wheel.  I thought you might enjoy your own peak.
