How to Use Multi-Strand Grooved Slide Bar Clasps

Follow these steps to make a gorgeous cuff bracelet. Next, experiment with your own stone variations! for a complete materials list see Garnet Gladiator Bracelet

Step 1

Cut a 45” piece of FX101 Softflex beading wire and loop it around a UC45 crimp bead at one end.

Step 2

Pull the loop tight, crimp the bead and trim the short end of the beading wire.

Step 3

Thread the beading wire through the first hole nearest to the safety catch on the clasp.

Step 4

Tuck the crimp bead into the groove on the back of the clasp.

Step 5

Thread all of the beads on your first strand, including the spacer bars. Continue through the first hole on the second half of the clasp. Double check to be sure your bracelet is the desired length. If not, make adjustments.

Step 6

Add a crimp bead inside the groove but don’t pull the wire too tight before crimping. Leave 2-3mm of empty wire on every strand of your bracelet. If the tension is too tight, the bracelet will be stiff and prone to damage. After you crimp the bead, return through the second hole on the clasp.

Step 7

Thread all the beads of your second strand, add a crimp and return for your third strand. Repeat until you have completed the bracelet.

Step 8

After you complete the final strand, add a looped crimp just as you did before the first strand. Tuck the crimp into the groove and you are done!
