Finishing leather cord is a lot easier than you may think. With just a pair of sharp scissors, leather cord, and an S-clasp you can finish leather jewelry in less than 5 minutes. This versatile technique can be applied to both necklaces and bracelets.
For necklaces, we like the leather cord to run from the clasp to just below the collar bones. Of course, you can go longer if you like.
At the front of your necklace, you can play around with different design elements, like wire wrapped silver beads, stringing pearls, or whatever else you can imagine. You can make single strand designs, or multi-strand designs. See this leather necklace as an example of what you can do in the front.
For a bracelet, you can do things like wrap entire lengths of leather cord around your wrist once, or multiple times, and then sew down beads, as in this bracelet design. Or you can stop the leather just near the clasp and then string multiple beads together as the main focus.
