Deer hide, or buckskin, is some of the strongest, most supple leather available, yet holds a knot well. Our deer hide is from North American deer, that is harvested through Fish & Wildlife Service's scheduled thinning in designated regions of overpopulation. It is tanned, dyed, and cut in the USA. The dye is lead and chromium free, and complies with all EPA regulations. As with most dyed leather, dye is not 100% Colorfast.
See our Classroom for step-by-step instruction & photos for finishing leather cords, and making leather jewelry.
Please note: Leather cannot be returned if it is not in its original bundle or on its original spool. Our deer hide leather is a natural product. All bundles and spools are hand dyed and hand cut, and therefore may have slight variation in color and thickness.
