Do you offer wholesale accounts?

Yes, we do! In fact, the majority of our customers are wholesale accounts.

Create your Wholesale account now. Remember to select “wholesale” as your account type during set-up.

Before we can process your first order, we must have a copy of your sales tax exemption documentation on file. There are several ways you can submit this paperwork to us: Fax it to us at 510-845-8096, Email it to nina@ninadesigns.com (scans and high resolution photos are acceptable), or Mail a hard copy to Nina Designs, PO Box 8127, Emeryville, CA 94662, USA.

NOTE: Alaska, Delaware, Montana, New Hampshire and Oregon do not collect sales tax. If you are a registered business in one of these states we require documentation that verifies you are conducting business within the jewelry trade.

How do I see Wholesale prices?

To see wholesale pricing you must create a wholesale account. Before creating a wholesale account everything you see is retail pricing and policies.

 


 

What is the difference between Wholesale and Retail accounts?

Wholesale customers are in the business of selling jewelry. They have registered with their state as a wholesale business and are able to purchase materials at wholesale pricing and without paying sales tax on them.

The sales tax is paid later by a retail customer and passed to the State through the business they purchase from, which may or may not be the business that purchases from us.

Wholesale customers can backorder products that are currently out of stock. Backordered items must meet a minimum value to qualify. Read our backorder policy for detailed infomation.

Both Retail and Wholesale customers must meet a $50 order minimum. 

To qualify as a wholesale business, you must fill in your sales tax exemption number when setting up your on-line account. We also require physical copy of your state documentation for our files.

What is a State Resale License?

A state resale license is issued by the state in which you do business and registers you as a wholesale business with your local state tax agency. This permit is called different things in different states. For example, the California license is called a Seller’s Permit and is issued by the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration (CDTFA). In New York, it’s called a Certificate of Authority issued by the Department of Taxation and Finance.

A Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) is NOT sufficient for setting up a wholesale account. We require the resale permit number issued by your State tax agency. If you live in a state that does not collect sales tax, like Alaska or Oregon, we will accept your city business license. For international customers, the number of the business license issued in your country is sufficient.

Sales tax exemption documentation is required to purchase from Nina Designs on a wholesale account regardless of the taxable status of the market you re-sell the products into.

CALIFORNIA WHOLESALE CUSTOMERS:

For California wholesale customers, we must have a signed copy of the California Resale Certificate form in our office for wholesale accounts.

Is there a discounted price for wholesale customers?

Wholesale prices are significantly discounted from retail pricing. Wholesale customers must provide a copy of their state sales tax exemption documentation and must meet a $50 order minimum per order.

Why do you have a $50 wholesale minimum per order? Can you waive this minimum?

Wholesale accounts are for customers that are in the trade of selling jewelry or jewelry supplies. Our wholesale prices are based on processing orders of $50 or more. If we were to accept orders under $50, we would have to raise our wholesale prices.

If you are a member of our Designers Circle, wholesale order minimums are waived.

 


 

When I log in I only see retail prices but I am wholesale. How can I see wholesale prices?

To see wholesale pricing you must create a wholesale account. Before creating a wholesale account everything you see is retail pricing and policies.

When setting up your wholesale account, you must submit your state issued sales tax exemption documentation number and provide a hard copy before your first order. The account type that you have when you are logged in – wholesale or retail – is printed on the top left corner of our website. If you’ve set up a wholesale account and still see only retail pricing, please call our office at 1-800-336-6462.

CALIFORNIA WHOLESALE CUSTOMERS:

For California wholesale customers, we must have a signed copy of the California Resale Certificate form in our office for wholesale accounts.

Do you extend terms?

No, we do not extend terms (net 10, net 30, etc). Payment is by Visa, Mastercard and Paypal . We do not accept American Express.

 


 

I am an International customer and I do not have a resale license. How can I create a wholesale account?

International customers can set up a wholesale account by selecting the wholesale option during account creation. In the field that asks for the State Resale License, please enter the number of the business license you have in your country.
